How the Finnish system is built
Finland’s ice hockey pyramid is a comprehensive tiered system that accommodates everyone from local recreational enthusiasts to elite professional athletes. This structured hierarchy ensures that players at every stage of their development can find a competitive and challenging environment to hone their skills.
In this pyramid, Division 3 serves as the foundational entry point for many, followed by the semi-professional intensity of Division 2. At the top of the semi-pro tiers sits Suomi-sarja, a high-level league just one step below the professional ranks of Mestis and Liiga.
At Wannabe Hockey Agency, we specialize in navigating this complex system. We evaluate your current skill set and long-term goals to identify the perfect entry point, ensuring you land in a league where you can truly compete, contribute, and grow.
